I combined wayfinding, branding, and multi-channel communications into a unified visitor experience that increased visibility and usage of an underutilized outdoor public space.

Challenge

  • Outdoor space was physically disconnected from primary visitor traffic flow

  • Most visitors were unaware the space existed

  • Building lacked environmental cues directing visitors toward the area

  • Space needed stronger visual identity and discoverability

Approach

  • Designed environmental graphics system connecting indoor and outdoor experiences

  • Used leaf-based graphic elements to bridge institutional branding with outdoor environment

  • Developed directional signage guiding visitors outward from the main building

  • Supported campaign through digital signage, a webpage, maps, and tabletop signage

  • Addressed both navigation and awareness simultaneously

Results

  • 30% increase in visitor traffic year over year

  • Improved visitor navigation and discoverability

  • Underused space became an active destination
